VS-551 Exceptionally Rare Viet Cong made propaganda
sign made out of C- Ration outer cardboard cases. One of
several that were brought home by the Division Surgeon of
the 9TH Division in the Mekong Delta. These were captured at
a VC Hospital in 1968 and brought home with its contents. I
suspect that were having wounded Soldiers copy text on to
these to occupy their time. Obviously they did not
understand the language and just lettering from an existing
sign. Approx 19 x 12 inches in length. Reads as follows.
"Say no to terrors and
massacre against the Vietnamese . When encountered, throw
away your weapons. Cross over to the Vietnamese People. You
will be well treated.".
These would have been nailed up along trails to be seen by
American Troops to demoralize them. Probably the only one
like it you will ever see. $285

acrylic on board painting from artist , Victor Olson. Olson
produced illustrations for books and magazines and was the
official artist for Sikorsky Helicopters in Connecticut. In
addition to producing artwork for the Sikorsky factory for
use in brochures for Government contracts, his artwork was
used to produce prints for Sikorsky employees. This is the
ORIGINAL artwork produced for the rollout of the ASPB Mark
II in 1969. The ASPB was a Riverine Assault boat used in the
Brown Water Navy in Vietnam and this was to be the improved
model. Three prototypes were built, one by Sikorsky. the
company won the contract but due to wind down in Vietnam
they never went into production. The one survivor was used
