OC-1640  Rare WWI French Pilots Tunic and Visor Cap. Nice horizon blue Officer's gabardine cloth tunic with Captain rank and bullion Aviation winged stars. Buttons are Infantry, but this is not unusual as many men transferred to Aviation from other branches of service and continued to wear that branch. Initially aviation was just a specialty, not an actual branch of service. Flight badge is post WWI and most likely dates to the late 1920s. Condition overall is excellent. An examination of the collar shows that this insignia is the only insignia ever on this collar. $1495  ON HOLD
 
 
OC-1639    Amazing 102ND Overseas Battalion Officer Cadet tunic with fantastic formation signs. He had been a Sgt and was offered promotion and ended his status as "Cadet".  Officer's tunic with bullion "Canada" shoulder titles, no rank as I believe his commission was not issued due to the end of the War. Choice condition overall. Includes a letter from the family with the Veteran's information. About 40 pages available online about this Soldier. In an interesting note, his Cousin with the same last name was a Victoria Cross recipient. We actually purchased his Sergeants uniform from the family a few months ago!! $1395

OC-1625  WWI Canadian Highland Doublet cut enlisted tunic. Shoulder straps were made in a a darker shade of OD than the tunic. This is the 1918 model with rifle pads, double dart collar on one side and single on the other. Epaulet straps have 72ND OS Battalion regimental buttons. Label has been washed away.This one has been in the costume houses and bears those marks, but is a real 1918 tunic. $795
 
 
 
 
OC-1624   WWI Canadian Diary/ Photo/ ID Grouping for  a member of the 13TH Mounted Rifles and later the 8TH Overseas Battalion. Includes 2 portrait photos of the soldier as well as one in his hospital suit. Diary discusses overseas activity until his wounding on April 28TH, 1917 at Arleax. He laid on the battlefield exposed for 29 hours until he was finally picked up and brought to an aid station. After going through recovery and treatment for a year was returned to Canada and mustered out with a partially paralyzed left leg.. $450

OC-1616  Exceptionally RARE WWI British Field Artillery Officer's Cuff Rank Tunic with correct straight leg trousers. The interesting side of this uniform beyond the obvious is the rare insignia above the right pocket. Approved in September of 1918, The "B.L.A.V." badge was awarded to British Latin American Volunteers who served in the World War. British loyalists living in South or Central America who served were authorized this very rare insignia. Interestingly, it surfaced in Florida. Only one we have ever seen. unfortunately not named. $995

OC-1606    Extremely RARE!! 1915 early Gas Mask (Compress). Really not much more than padded gauze with added chemical. These offered little protection and were usually discarded. A rare survivor complete with his rubber gas goggles, his medal trio, shoulder insignia, photos, shoulder titles and research. It folds so small he could store it in his pocket in a large match box!! Unbelievable relic from the firsts months of gas warfare. Fresh from an older collection. Last photo is not included, but is just shown to illustrate usage. $895

OC-1566    Fabulously rare WWI squadron panel cut from the side of a Salmson 2 Seater Observation Aircraft. The squadron is Sal. 27 and showcases a mosquito with binoculars. Each aircraft has a colored chevron with point facing forward. The interesting fact is that each aircraft had a distinct size and color for each aircraft. This may make it possible to identify the Pilot. This section measures approximately 31 x 30 inches. It suffered from some cracking on folds. Color is fantastic. First time ever offered. $6500$SOLD$

OC-1512  Exceptionally rare WWI British Officers tunic from a Captain in the 30th Division. He was a Veterinary Officer and wears the collar and buttons of the Corps. Each shoulder patch features the white crest of Lord Derby, embroidered on black disc. This division of units (Pals) sailed for France in December 1915 and remained throughout the war. British uniforms still having their original shoulder patches intact are quite a rarity, much more so then their Canadian counterparts. $1795  $SOLD$

OC-1509  Late War British enlisted man's tunic with classic 5 button front and stand and fall collar. This late War version is a little odd, but I have had dated tunics with the same configuration, which is a single dart collar on one side and a double dart collar on the other. It has the wartime WD marking with the number above and the letter below. Named as shown. I am sure this is 1918 production. Paper label is completely gone. Collar has been pierced for multiple badges. $725

OC-1484  1915 private purchase French Adrian style helmet made of tempered steel. These were made available prior to the issue of Adrian helmets by the French Army on the open market. They were typically purchased by Officers as they were expensive. Due to the fact that they were made from tempered steel they could fracture when struck by shrapnel and fragments could enter the wound and were banned by the Army, making them very rare today. Maker marked on the rear visor. Some differences between this helmet and  the French Army issue include, pointed front visor, round openings for front badge instead of slots. Black liner trimmed with gold edging, 2 holes for ventilation on the top instead of a slot and other fine details. I must confess, when I purchased this I did not realize exactly what it was, and had to research it. $895
